Multi-Level Painting for
Limited Animation
Today's budgets are forcing more animators to do more limited animation, with the
characters spread across multiple levels to speed up the drawing process.
But duplicating lines on multiple levels looks bad and trying to paint right
up to the edge, when the edge is on a different level can be pretty tough.
So FlipBook uses it's Light Table to let you see the lines in all the
related levels while you're painting. The current level is displayed in
black and the other lines that help make up the character are
displayed in pink. When you click inside the black lines the fill also stops
when it hits a pink line from another level. This makes painting multi-level
drawings a piece of cake and "paint to" lines are a thing of the past.
