FlipBook Helps 3D Animators Learn Better Timing
Someone once said that animation is what happens between the frames. To become a really good animator you have to understand what's happening between each frame not just the key frames. Looking at in-betweens calculated by a computer to learn timing is working backwards. If you get the answer before you even understand the question how are you ever going to learn to understand what's going on between the frames. Drawing a frame and then seeing how it plays is a much better way to learn to animate and develop a strong sense of timing. You also get a better feel for how often and where you need key frames to get a more natural - rather than computerized look.
